A Reflection

You, with all your layers peeled

Me, with all my layers, unseal!

They, a figment of our layers, to heal

We, in the creator’s field

You, an orchestrator

Me, an autobiographer

They, oblivious actors

We, a theater!

You, a neither

Me, a gender

They, asunder – a blunder!

We, a wonder, together

You, all that can be

Me, a vessel, to conceive

They, for us to deal, the karmic weave

We, a marvel, reveal!

The poem  pens  the role played by each of us as an individual or collectively as a society in Life, including that of the creator.

In each of the verse, You – refers to the creator; Me – refers to oneself/ myself; They – refers to the society – when seen as separate and disconnected from oneself and We – refers to the same society when perceived as a unity

The first verse talks about layers of conditioning, of perceptions, of memories, of patterns and habits that we accumulate. It is only when we peel the layers, our true nature including that of the society springs forward. The creator is assumed to have no layers, hence is the highest potential.

Creator as an Orchestrator composes or arranges various groups of performers (people) to create musical harmony (Life). From the chaos of different sounding instruments he brings order. An autobiographer is one who writes his own stories – just like how we weave our own and project it to the world. They – a projection of our mind as society, mere spectators and We – a theater, performing the various roles we chose to play in life.

Verse 3  speaks of differences created on basis of judging as a gender. The creator is neither male nor female unlike us. The society thrives on differentiation (asunder), and we become a wonder when we dissolve the discrimination of male /female.

Verse 4 speaks of the creator as the highest potential, while one is an instrument to conceive life, the society is a cause and effect reaction while together we are capable of creating marvelous life for each of us.
